When pain relief has been achieved, you may need to move into the corrective care phase of your chiropractic treatment. Pain relief does not always mean the problem has completely resolved. Many spinal problems have been there for a long time. It is not uncommon for problems to have developed over 10 or 20 years. Once you have had a problem for over 3 months it is considered to be chronic. Chronic back, neck, shoulder, hip and knee problems lead to compensations in your body and these take time to heal and resolve. Treatment during the corrective phase is usually less often and the duration varies with each person. This is the time when we discuss any further lifestyle choices, sporting activities, work habits and postural issues you may need to consider. We perform regular reviews during corrective care.
