How We Treat Your Pain

Intensive Care Program

Our experience and expertise in chronic pain relief

Combining over 45 years of clinical practice with the latest diagnostic tools available we have helped thousands of people achieve rapid pain relief and lasting benefits through spinal health. We have designed and refined a simple process that has the best and quickest way to treating chronic pain.

Chiropractic Treatment Plans

Most people commence chiropractic care because they are experiencing some kind of pain or discomfort. This may be severe, sudden-onset pain in the back or neck which may radiate down an arm or a leg. It may be an ongoing, nagging ache which is slowly worsening. It may be headaches. Or it may be an injury to another joint like the shoulder or knee. Whatever the case, the first part of any treatment plan is to provide relief of your symptoms and restore movement to the affected area.

1st Visit – Initial Consultation & Examination

The purpose of your first visit is to determine the cause of your problem. We will listen to your concerns and decide if yours is a problem that chiropractic care can help. If it is, we will thoroughly examine your spine and nervous system and any other areas of concern. If it isn’t, we won’t waste your time and will suggest another professional who may be able to help. If x-rays are required, we will refer you to Qscan, which is the bulk billing x-ray clinic located at the Q Super Centre.

2nd Visit – Report & First Treatment

On your second visit we will discuss the findings of your examination, including x-ray findings and explain the cause of your problem. We will discuss treatment options to achieve your recovery in the best possible way. This will include making you aware of any associated risks and any lifestyle modifications which may be helpful for you. We will discuss fees. You will receive your first chiropractic treatment on this visit.

3rd Visit

On this visit we will answer any questions you have and go over any of your examination findings which need further clarification. We will discuss the best treatment plan for your recovery. This will include any exercises you can do to assist your recovery. You will receive your next chiropractic treatment.

Regular Visit

Once the initial consultation and examination report and treatment plan have been discussed and you have received your first treatment, you are on the road to recovery. From now on you will receive chiropractic treatment on each visit until you reach your first review visit. Any further questions you have will be discussed.

Review Visits

We perform regular reviews during your recovery. The purpose of review visits is to check your progress and decide on the next stage of your treatment plan. On these visits we will re-examine your problem areas and determine your progress. Any additional exercises you can do to assist your recovery will be discussed at review visits.

Hear from the Experts

Patients receiving an initial course of spinal manipulation thrice a week for the first month had statistically significant and clinically important reductions in pain and disability.  Furthermore, those who received maintenance spinal manipulations every 2 weeks for 9 months maintained and increased their benefits, whereas those who did not receive this continuing course of care in the 2nd phase of the trial lost their earlier improvement.

Chiropractic care, including spinal manipulation, is recommended for the management of migraine and cervicogenic headaches. The type, frequency, dosage, and duration of treatment should be based on guideline recommendations, clinical experience, and knowledge of the patient.

A combination of Chiropractic Manipulative Therapy and Low-Level Laser Therapy was more effective than either of the 2 on their own. Both therapies are indicated as potentially beneficial treatments for cervical facet dysfunction.
